Moosehead Mountain Colorado Game Unit 10

Описание: If you have about 25 years of points you might consider hunting elk with a rifle here. This is a place I've always wanted to get to. It's a LONG drive from anywhere. Bring your own firewood because there are no trees where you can park. Bring plenty of water too. If you have horses bring them! Park the horse trailer just off the paved road. The nearest gas station is in Dinosaur, CO. The nearest grocery store is Vernal, UT or Rangely, CO. Moosehead Mountain has plenty of mature bull elk. Keep an eye on tags, points and population surveys as the significant winter of 2022/2023 reduced the elk (and deer) population.

DIRECTIONS: From Hwy. 40 at mile post 5, go N
on Harper’s Corner Rd. Access on BLM land
from Harper’s Corner Rd. from mile post 6
(BLM trail 1520) to mile post 9.3. Or access
from BLM land S of Moffat CR 16 at mile post
2.4 or 3.4. Access by foot or horseback only via
BLM land.
