The 2018 Altibox Norway Chess tournament is the strongest round-robin tournament of the calendar year. Almost all of the top players in the world are participating with Magnus Carlsen the World Champion as the #1 seed and the favourite.
The tournament started with a pre-tournament blitz tourney which decided who got seeded with 5x white pieces as opposed to 5x black pieces for the others.
