David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs got north and south with decisiveness. Cutback lanes opened and were used. That rhythm mattered late. It set up the final drive that put Bates on the field with the game on his foot.

The Detroit Lions walked out of Chicago with a victory, a sweep of the division winners, and momentum from a plan that fit the personnel. In an NFL season defined by attrition, the Lions adapted, defended space, and found answers at critical positions.
