We timed getting to Glacier National Park just perfectly as the Going-to-the-sun Road was just opening the day we arrived. We managed to snag a campsite at Apgar Campground on a Saturday at 5pm as they are walk-ups only.
We spent 4 nights dry camping in Glacier National Park, but definitely could have spent longer. We loved kayaking on Lake McDonald, hiking to Virginia/St Mary Falls, and driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
