An arctic cold snap has swept across the country, and Western New York is feeling it hard — with dangerously low, subzero temperatures putting rescued draft horses at risk. ❄️🐴
To help them stay warm, we’re feeding hay three times a day. As horses digest hay, it ferments in their gut and creates natural heat — basically turning food into a built-in furnace.
But sweet senior Bill faces a special challenge. His teeth are so worn down that he can’t properly chew hay anymore… even though he still tries. 💔
To keep him warm and healthy, we’ve increased his senior mash, making sure he gets the calories and warmth he needs to survive the freeze.
