Protesters in Bristol pulled down a statue of a noted 17th century slave-trader on Sunday, shortly before it was dropped it into the city's river.
The demonstrations in the city in the U.K's south-west took place amid similar protests across the country and worldwide, supporting the Black Lives Matter movement in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
The statue of Edward Colston had been a focal point of local controversy for years, with many citizens, including a former Bristol MP calling for it to be taken down.
