Here - by timing when to inject pace into the game - - just after the touch, you know there is always a player (the toucher) who is off-side.
By aiming at the gap between that player, and the next one along, we can anticipate what actions might be taken by the defence.
Generally
✅ Roll ball has to be on the player opposite the ball carrier
✅ If the roll ball player is heading to the right - the next player on the right is half
✅ The roll ball has to be quick
✅ The player on the left runs into the space between the toucher and their player
THEN
✅ If you dive / look like you are diving close to the feet of the toucher...
✅ You will likely score
✅ If not - your player might 'collapse' to come and help
✅ So if the half wraps around - you have created an overlap
This principle isn't just on the line - and as long as you:
Understand which player is opposite the ball carrier
Have a quick play of the ball
Players attack the right channel / space
The half pops & wraps
You will always have a very similar set of decisions to make.
