People cannot receive important communication, including OTP messages, banking alerts, and emergency calls, leaving them effectively disconnected.

Second, the widely used 28-day recharge plan raises concerns about fairness and transparency. A calendar year has 12 months, yet prepaid users are required to recharge 13 times in a year because each plan lasts only 28 days. This effectively forces customers to make an additional recharge annually.

Mobile connectivity today is no longer a luxury. It is a basic necessity for communication, banking, education, and emergency access.

Raghav Chadha emphasized that telecom companies should ensure fair, transparent and consumer-friendly policies so that ordinary citizens are not burdened with hidden costs or unnecessary restrictions.
