Sailing from Blidö in the Stockholm Archipelago to the Åland Islands on SV Arcturus

Welcome to Season 3 of my channel!

On this episode we depart the quaint village of Blidö with its beautiful Sandkil Ship, Helmi (http://www.helmi.se/en/about-helmi-22...) and head north for (insert drum roll) THE ÅLAND ISLANDS!

We had a lovely quiet sail until then winds gave out then we motorsailed our way out into open water with the Gulf of Bothnia to Port and the Baltic Sea to Starboard. The conditions were so calm it felt more like a large lake than a large sea and we were happy to have a day of obstacle free sailing.

We arrived at Mariehamn, Åland's only real city at around 12am and the docks and streets were full of people enjoying the midnight sun.

This new episode and the first of the new season features Neil and myself talking about what Blidö has to offer and what to expect of the faculties. This season will follow my time on board SV Arcturus as we explore the Åland Islands and beyond. We sail into cities, tie up on small islands, anchor bows to and ride out a blow before heading back to Sweden. I hope you will follow along with us on the trip.
