In the Hmong traditional belief that as a human being a person has 360 spirits within one body. As we get old, we lose a spirit each time we “poob plig”. At the time one life ends on earth, three strongest spirits live on such as the spirit of reincarnation (ntsuj plig), spirit of metal (ntsuj hlau), and the spirit of shadow or self portrait representative (ntsuj duab).

No one is perfect, and as the producer, I personally want to apologize and make one correction about the three spirits. So that the new Hmong generation could pass on our tradition beliefs to their children. Again, as one self leaving earth, at one’s death, the “ntsuj plig or spirit of reincarnation” will move on to reborn into a new body on earth. The “ntsuj hlau or spirit of metal” will remain and guard the body in the ground. The “ntsuj duab or spirit of shadow” will travel to heaven to reunite with ancestors.

In this movie “Kuv Ces Yog Dab Lawm Xwb S2 part 1” the spirit in the ground, in the dragon world is the spirit of “Ntsuj Hlau,”not the spirit of “Ntsuj Duab”. Thank you.

This song and movie were dedicated to my beloved son, Tokeng Thao, as well as for all mothers who lost their children.
