Alanna Easley, originally from Philadelphia, PA, is a Lighting Designer who has been bringing her eye to a wide range of productions for around 8 years. She has lent her visions to all types of performances including concerts, musicals, plays, dance showcases, and multimedia productions, in spaces ranging from intimate houses to 6-acre outdoor venues. Although the majority of her career has had its footing in theatre, she moved to her new homebase in Nashville, TN in 2023 to expand her reach into the music industry. Alongside her continued freelance work, she now designs as a house LD for the legendary EXIT/IN and Marathon Music Works.
Alanna graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2018, with focuses in lighting design and tech, stage management, and acting. During her time in school, she began her freelance career designing showcases for the local dance schools. Shortly after graduating, Alanna accepted a position as a performer and the fulltime lighting designer at Shadowbox Live in Columbus, OH, a rock and comedy based theater. Over nearly five years with the company, she fell head over heels in love with lighting design for music, working on tribute productions to Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and many more. Including her freelance work, Alanna has designed about 50 plays, musicals, sketch shows, and dance productions, earning a nomination for Excellence in Lighting Design for Holiday Hoopla from Theatre Roundtable in 2019, and three nominations for Best Lighting Design from Broadway World Columbus in 2023 for No Return: The Deadly Dance of Bonnie and Clyde, Vinyl: A Very 80's Musical, and Thunder and Lightning: A Tribute to Queen and Led Zeppelin.
Since moving to Nashville, TN, Alanna has been working to bring her talent for visual storytelling to concert stages, working with artists from all genres. She has found the challenge to be an absolute thrill and is enjoying learning more about this industry every day. It is her belief that her background in both theatre and performance give her a fresh perspective to bring to the stage - one with a focus on storytelling, on conveying a message, on moving the audience and giving them an experience that sticks with them. That has always been the goal of her work, and always will be as she continues this exciting journey.
