Speaking at Cobham Training Centre before Sunday’s London derby at the Emirates Stadium, Rosenior confirmed Reece James is fine and said Romeo Lavia is getting stronger after a positive mini practice match in the week.

He also revealed that Estevao Willian will be out a little longer and that Marc Cucurella is not available for Sunday, while Jamie Gittens is progressing well in his recovery. Levi Colwill continues his long term rehab, and Dario Essugo is back available.

Rosenior also spoke about Wesley Fofana after the racist abuse he received online, praised Cole Palmer while discussing player welfare, backed Mikel Arteta’s work at Arsenal, and said Chelsea must stay calm and take things game by game during a huge run of fixtures.

He also insisted Chelsea should be in the Champions League and said his side have largely been in control of games but have given away too many goals in key moments.
