While watching the video you will see parts and pieces of what's necessary to guide the horse while making them understand vertical balance which keeps them standing up so they don't lean on your aids while working over their back. The correct use of legs and hands will provide a positive learning experience for the animal and for yourself. You must provide enough time between asking with your aide to give the horse a chance to understand what your after, so be extremely patient. A lot of this is learning how to ride from your seat using the saddle as a tool and backing up your actions with the reins that you hold in your hands. Your personal balance of your seat bones is also critical in the behavior and balance of the animal as well, which keeps your aids at the correct length in order to achieve this harmony of understanding while moving across the ground. There will be many times of which you will have to revisit by showing the horse over and over and over again the exact same aid connection to the movement in order to attain vertical balance without the horse leaning on the aids. You will find thousands of applications of leg to rein or rein to leg to make the horse understand what you're after so the horse can do the exercise all on its own without any intervention. The great challenge to all this is having the horse soft enough in movement with an understanding of what's needed to apply the suppleness of movement in all the gaits.
