Описание: This lecture continues the discussion on Critical Regionalism by examining the works of prominent architects and contemporary projects that integrate modern architectural approaches with local climate, materials, and cultural contexts. Through case studies from India and around the world, the lecture illustrates how architects employ passive design strategies, traditional spatial concepts, and regionally appropriate materials to create environmentally responsive and culturally rooted architecture. Examples such as courtyard houses, jaali façades, and climate-responsive institutional buildings demonstrate how contemporary design can reinterpret vernacular principles using modern technologies. The lecture also highlights international practitioners including Glenn Murcutt, Álvaro Siza, Tadao Ando, Francis Kéré, Wang Shu, and Luis Barragán showing how their works balance modern expression with regional identity, landscape sensitivity, and sustainable design principles.
