There is no greater crisis in the world than the disintegration of marriage and the family. One-half of all marriages, both in the church and the world, end in divorce and there are broken homes and sexual perversions of every kind everywhere. Satan knows that he can destroy society by destroying the family. Pastor Bohr firmly believes that the reason marriages are in such disarray, unhappy, or just simply existing is because we have gone astray from the biblical foundations and principles that God set up for its protection, life and happiness. This sermon and series lay out the reasons God made marriage and examine the "owners manual" He provided to keep it running smoothly.

Pastor Bohr discusses what is meant by the words "I will make a helper comparable to and suitable for him" and shows how a husband and wife should blend as closely as possible into one in love, purpose, goals and especially in their beliefs and relationship with God. He gives clear counsel from the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy how those choosing to enter into marriage must be one in faith, principles and doctrine, and must not marry outside of the church in order to have real happiness and peace in the home and to avoid peril to their souls. Adam and Eve's first day after their creation was the Sabbath, given to enhance their relationship with God, thus drawing them closer together. Marriage and the Sabbath are thus shown to be connected and valid for all time.

Pastor Bohr shows the relationship God designs the man to have with the woman in how Adam was created first, how he felt the need for companionship, how Adam named Eve, and how Eve was taken from his side as an equal in value, love and tender treatment, yet different in personality, function and authority. He shows how we must let God bring us to a mate, rather than us desperately making unwise choices. He discusses the vital role of the mother and how important it is for the mother to be with her children as much as possible in order to raise healthy children in the Lord. This much-needed sermon will show how God wants man to follow His original plan because He knows what is best for our spiritual, temporal, societal and emotional happiness.
