We met Shree Shankar Pradhananga - National Director SOS Children's Villages Nepal - in Sanothimi - Bhaktapur Distr. - SOS Children's Villages Nepal. This was part of the visit to SOS Villaggi dei Bambini IT/ NE project.
He says that the “home in a box” contains the items needed to run a home (some food, utensils, bedding). Experience in other countries showed that it can be very useful for quick relief and restart the life of affected families. In Nepal they are distributing it to the same families for whom they are building the house. They were hoping to distribute it when they house is completed. But because constructions are delayed (waiting for government guidelines) they will distribute it before completion.
