Washington Clears Homeless Encampment in McPherson Square | VOA News

The National Park Service cleared the homeless encampment Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Officials from the National Park Service said the reason for the forced evictions was due to high levels of criminal activity and unsanitary conditions.

Equipment in the form of bulldozers, workers in protective gear cleared the Square of tents, belongings, into trash bags and garbage trucks.
