This is a poor condition set I bought from that farm batch a few weeks ago. Presenting in a filthy state with no TX or RX, I was able to get the transmit working through sorting out some dry joints. The receieve is as deaf as a post...like 300uV, so above a normal S9 signal. The 10.695Mhz crytal filter was changed & was clearly. faulty as t has made a difference. I suspect there is a duff silver mica capacitor in the RF fllter network as the receive is sampled through one of those capacitors...coupled with the fact the transmit power is slightly down at 3.6W. This suggests to me that some of the RF energy is leaking to somewhere; hence my duff capacitor theory.
We'll come back to this in a few weeks after three batches of paid customer repairs are done.
