I've noticed that the air conditioning in Laraine hasn't been very cold as of late. It still works, it's kind-of cold, but not that ice cold that I remember. Then, one day, it stopped working at idle altogether. At the same time I noticed that the coolant temperature would creep higher and higher at idle, but would cool down when I got moving again. No check engine light, but that sounds like a bad fan clutch to me.
Now, when I say the AC stopped working at idle, I mean the air is blowing warm and the A/C compressor is cycling. I know that the A/C system was fully charged so I knew it wasn't due to low refrigerant. Much to my surprise, the gauge indicated that it had TOO MUCH pressure?!? That can't be right....
Laraine is my 2006 Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. I've had her for many years and overall it has been a great truck, but this year she has thrown quite a few curve balls my direction! Check out some of my other videos to see what I mean! She works very hard though, so I do expect some issues every now and again. She is back up and running at 100% again, and now my A/C is ICE COLD!
