In this video Ron McClellan, an engineer at General Air Products, Inc., describes how to properly wire your air compressor at a dry pipe sprinkler system installation.
On an air compressor with a pressure switch, always bring the incoming power to the "line" contacts of the pressure switch. Do not wire directly to the motor as this will cause the motor to run continuously and the safety valve to pop.
