Ballade by Joe Hisaishi (Cover)

Описание: Here's my cover of Ballade by Joe Hisaishi. This version of the piece is from Joe Hisaishi's album "Encore", but a version of this piece is also used as the main theme in the Takeshi Kitano movie "Brother".

This was extremely hard to record. First, it has been extremely hot all three days I've tried to record this piece. Second, my obsession with perfecting the dynamics has made me do around 100-300 takes. The bad part of that is how much time it has used up. The good part of it is that I no longer make mistakes with notes on this piece and the only mistakes I make now are in the dynamics and the rhythm. Additionally, I've been playing for so many hours straight that my tolerance for playing without getting mentally tired has increased.

The final reason this was hard to record is that I really want to start new pieces, and I've been very tempted to start working on those.

This week I've been listening to a lot of Kapustin's works, and it's inspired me to get better at the piano so I can play some of it! More specifically, his Op. 40 No. 6: Pastoral and Op. 41: Variations. (Yeol Eum Son's version of Variations is AWESOME!)
