Описание: Dramatic scenes were witnessed in Ward 13 of Nagpur on Friday when BJP workers locked their own party candidate, Kisan Gawande, inside his house after he was asked by the party leadership to withdraw his nomination for the municipal elections to be held on January 15.

The BJP had issued AB forms to both Gawande and another leader, Vijay Hole, which made workers believe that Gawande was the official party candidate. However, at the last moment, Gawande was told to withdraw his nomination. This created anger among his supporters, who locked his house from the outside, confining him and his family members.

During the standoff, Gawande appealed to his supporters with folded hands, saying that he had to follow the party order. The workers, however, refused to open the lock and questioned why the AB form was issued in the first place.

BJP MLC Parinay Fuke later reached the spot and held talks with the workers. After long discussions, the house was unlocked. Fuke said the matter would be discussed with senior leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, through a video conference.

Gawande later said that he had no resentment over the party decision and that he would campaign for the BJP. He also made it clear that he would not contest the election as an independent.
