Happy birthday, Josh! 🎂

This is a song focusing on the protagonist of Doom (1993) and of his exploits throughout the "Eviternity" duology, two gigantic Doom level packs spearheaded by project leader Joshua "Dragonfly" O'Sullivan. These mapsets have gone down in recent history as two of the highest-quality-assured and universally-beloved levelsets ever released for the game.

The lyrics connect not just to the story and canon of Eviternity's two releases, but to how Dragonfly brought both a development team and community together. I did want to leave things somewhat open-ended, though, so the overall lyrical message – of charging ahead full-pelt into the unknown, whether in pursuit of greatness or of uniting a people – could easily be applied to any heroic person or character desired.

Even our heroes must rest.
