This tea is Dong Fang Hong (东方红), a luxury Phoenix Mountain oolong tea named after the "East is Red" song celebrating Mao Zedong. The specific tea tree we're drinking from is from the tea tree that Mao Zedong and President Xi Jinping have drank from. You can't buy tea from this tree. When we went to China in November 2025, Dr. Ming Wu received this tea as a gift from a very special friend.
I'm drinking tea with Dr. Wu, who is a master of Chinese medicine and my teacher. I'm also with Dr. Wei Li, a senior disciple of Dr. Wu.
