2025 Masking + BG Giveaway !

Enjoy these 100+ masks, Idk how many backgrounds, and a few manips, including my epic Joshua Sweet x Thrax kiss. I even tried to share Thrax and Joshua individually, in case anyone wanted to make them kiss other characters. Sorry it looks wonky, I wasn't originally planning on that when I was building the manip.

Note: For some masks (The Tiana + Naveen mask at 02:24 and Benson at 03:06), I couldn't find a good greenscreen color that didn't merge with the characters clothes or skin, so I rendered a black and white mask you can use to mask the original clip. I can try and make a tutorial if needed.

More rambling below:

This has been a great year for me editing-wise! I got back into crossover editing, which I had really missed. I had stopped doing it for a while because I was putting so much pressure on myself to create technically and narratively perfect videos that it stopped being fun. I actually didn't even notice I had stopped, but when I finally completed "Do you blame yourself" I remembered how much fun I had storytelling. So this year I had decided to set some parameters for myself:

1. No joining MEPs in 2024 and focus on my own projects, including opening my own meps. The idea was a) to put less pressure to meet deadlines and b) give myself the time to make some of the many many project ideas I've had since I started getting into editing. I technically didn't really meet this criteria, because I did set some deadlines for my own meps, which were supposed to be not to strict but I was still a bit stressed bc I was like "it's embarrassing if I don't meet the deadline to my own MEP". I'll try to keep working on that next year, lol. I think I'll keep restricting my joining to something like 2-3 crossover meps per year so that I can still keep a good balance between participating and collaborating with other editors and making my own projects.

2. Go for the easy solution, even if it's less good quality, because in the long run it won't be that noticeable. This mostly for masking lol, I used to spend hours masking with a polygon tool, trying to get extra clean masks and even redoing the outlines. The end result looks really nice but my god is it time consuming. Now I take more shortcuts and you can tell some of the edges in this giveaway are rough, but at least I spend more time doing the part I actually enjoy.

3. Don't wait to be better to do what you want to do. Start by doing what's fun and you will improve and learn in the process. I have so many ideas that I've been to intimated to start, because I felt I didn't have the skills to do it but I decided I should just try and have fun. One thing I wanted to try working on a 3D crossover, but I didn't get around to doing it. I did start working on a short Camilo x Ethan Clade crossover, which I hope to complete in January.

Even though I didn't 100% stick to these rules they helped to edit with a different mindset and avoid falling for the perfectionist trap again.
