The Australian’s Troy Bramston says there is “widespread anger and dismay” throughout all sections of the Labor Party regarding the decision to parachute Kristina Keneally into the seat of Fowler.
“There’s never been anybody I think in the history of the Australian Labor Party … who’s had a better rails run than Kristina Keneally,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“She's had the rose petals thrown at her feet time and time again, yet she’s never won anything.
“She’s never won an internal party ballot. She’s never won a rank-and-file preselection. She would not win a rank-and-file preselection – that is the party members voting in the Western Sydney seat of Fowler.”
Mr Bramston said local lawyer Tu Le, who is a “champion of the Vietnamese community”, would be a terrific candidate, but she has been elbowed out of the way by Ms Keneally.
