Chapter 1, explores the history and legacy of the Lubana Banjara
Sikhs, who were renowned traders of gunpowder and formidable
warriors. It delves into the history of the Lubana Banjara Sikhs,
highlighting their significant role in the trade of saltpetre and their fortified
settlements. Under Guru Nanak's guidance, the Lubana Banjara Sikhs
became expert gunpowder traders, establishing a global monopoly over
the gunpowder trade. Their unmatched expertise in navigating
challenging trade routes, both by land and sea, led to the development of
strategic infrastructures such as wells and forts. The Ottomans' conquest
of Europe led to the contraction of Christianity, prompting European
traders to search for sea routes to India to obtain valuable commodities
like saltpetre and to safeguard Christianity from the Islamic gunpowder
empires. This chapter talks about saltpetre revolution and process of
extracting it. The chapter also covers the contributions of the Lubana
Banjara Sikhs and Sikligars as weapon makers for the Khalsa, their efforts

methods of secret communication. Finally, the chapter discusses the
Lubana Banjara's progressive vision of unity, transcending the traditional
Varna system. Finally this chapter discusses the role of Lubana Banjara
