Best known for its reputation as one of the country’s best fly fishing venues, the Lake of Menteith is a Trout angler’s paradise. However, in more recent years, this picturesque 700 acre loch, has gained a significant reputation within the Pike angling community.
Only available for Lure fishing and Deadbaiting via membership of Pike Angler’s Alliance for Scotland and the Pike Angler’s Club, this generally ‘fly only’ water is often seen as the holy grail of Pike fishing, and the very few privileged access deadbaiting sessions are the highlight of many angler’s winter season.
In this episode, we finally get the chance to find out what all the fuss is about, as we go in search of the leviathans that are known to lurk in the depths of Menteith, the only Lake in Scotland; affectionately known by ‘Pikers’ as the
‘Lake of Dreams’.
