မဟာသရဏဂုံတော်ကြီးကို ပထမလယ်တီဆရာတော်ဘုရားကြီး စီရင်ရေးသားသည်။
“မဟာ” ဟူသည်မှာ ကြီးမားကျယ်ပြန့်မြင့်မြတ်ခြင်းကို ဆိုလိုပြီး၊ “သရဏဂမဏ” သည် ရတနာမြတ်သုံးပါး၌ မှီခိုရာ၊ ကိုးကွယ်ရာအဖြစ် စိတ်အပ်ခြင်းကို ဆိုလိုသည်။ ခန္ဓာ၊ အာယတန၊ ဓာတ်၊ သစ္စာ၊ ပဋိစ္စသမုပ္ပါဒ် စသည်တို့ကို သရဏဂုံနှင့် တွဲဖက်ရေးသားထားသော စာပိုဒ် ၅၀၄ ပုဒ် ပါဝင်သည်။

လယ်တီဆရာတော်ဘုရားကြီးသည် တန်ဆောင်မုန်းလဆန်း ၁ ရက်မှ စ၍ တပေါင်းလကုန်အထိ ငါးလတိတိ ဂါထာကြီးကို နေ့စဉ် ၁၄,၄၀၀ ကြိမ် စွမ်းအားကြီးစွာဖြင့် ရွတ်ဖတ်ခဲ့သည်။ စုစုပေါင်း ၂,၁၁၆,၈၀၀ ကြိမ် ရွတ်ဖတ်ပူဇော်ခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

ဤဗီဒီယိုဖြင့် ဆရာတော်ဘုရားကြီး၏ သာသနာ့အကျိုး သည်ပိုးမှုကို ဂုဏ်ပြုသည်။ရတနာသုံးပါး၏ ဂုဏ်ကို အာရုံပြု၍ သဒ္ဓါတရား မြှင့်တင်လိုသူများအတွက် အသုံးဝင်စေရန်လည်း ရည်ရွယ်သည်။ မဂ်ဖိုလ်နိဗ္ဗာန်ကို ရယူနိုင်ရေးအတွက် အထောက်အကူဖြစ်စေပါသည်။

The Great Mahāsaraṇa Gatha, beautifully composed by the first Ledi Sayadaw, is a powerful devotional recitation dedicated to the Triple Gem — the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha.
The term “Mahā” means great, vast, and sublime, and “Saraṇagamana” refers to seeking refuge in the Three Jewels as the supreme shelter and devotion. This grand gatha contains 504 verses, intertwining themes like the five aggregates (khandha), sense bases (āyatana), elements (dhātu), truth (sacca), and dependent origination (paṭiccasamuppāda).

Sayadaw devotedly recited the entire gatha daily from the 1st waxing of Tazaungmon, 1279 ME (1917 CE), until the end of Tabaung for five full months, outside of his alms round and meditation sessions. Each day, he recited it 14,400 times, totaling 2,116,800 recitations over the period — a remarkable tribute to the Triple Gem.

This video is created to honor the merits of the Ledi Sayadaw and help viewers develop stronger faith (saddhā) by listening, reflecting, and reciting this sacred gatha — a step closer to Magga, Phala, and Nibbāna.
