Can you really see Niagara Falls in one day? With up to 30,000 visitors per day and nearly 14 million visitors per year, Niagara Falls is one of the most visited natural attractions in North America. Many travelers spend multiple days exploring both the USA and Canada sides, but in this episode of The Savory Suitcase, we challenge ourselves to experience Niagara Falls in just one day.
We’re Hannah and Jeremy, and as part of our City in a Day travel series, we set out to see if a single, carefully planned day is enough to truly experience Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario. No overnight stay. No extra time. Just one packed itinerary covering the best things to do at Niagara Falls in one day.
In this Niagara Falls travel guide, we:
-Cross the US–Canada border to explore both sides of Niagara Falls
-Visit the iconic Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls
-Explore the historic Niagara Parks Power Station and walk the underground tunnel beneath the falls
-Experience the bright lights and attractions of Clifton Hill
-Eat classic Canadian food including Tim Hortons, BeaverTails, and poutine
-Drive across the famous Rainbow Bridge
-Ride the legendary Maid of the Mist boat tour, getting soaked at the base of the falls
-Learn Niagara Falls history, geography, and fun facts along the way
-End the day in Buffalo, New York with original Buffalo wings from Anchor Bar
The Maid of the Mist has been operating since 1846, offering one of the best ways to experience Niagara Falls up close. Standing at the base of Horseshoe Falls, feeling the mist, and hearing the roar of thousands of cubic feet of water rushing over the edge every second is something every visitor should experience at least once.
This video is perfect if you’re planning:
-A Niagara Falls day trip
-A Niagara Falls weekend itinerary
-A Niagara Falls USA and Canada itinerary
-Or wondering “Is one day enough for Niagara Falls?”
