Cellar Door returns after a long and necessary pause. For more than two years, the label stayed silent, taking time to step back and reconnect with what releasing music truly meant for us. Now, the restart begins with Rhythm of Empty Houses, a deeply personal EP from the Czech artist, Kletis.

This release holds an emotional weight for Kletis. The music here carries a sense of quiet sadness, shaped by everything that has happened in the world over the past few years. Each track reflects that tension between comfort and devastation, presence and helplessness.

The title piece was first written in 2022, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It began as Kletis’s response to the shock of that moment. Over time, it has grown into something larger — a gentle tribute to the people of Palestine and anyone living through fear, displacement, or the longing for freedom. Their resilience and hope echo quietly through the composition.


Rhythm of Empty Houses is Kletis’s way of making sense of a turbulent era. It’s an honest reflection of sadness, but also a small wish for peace and dignity for those enduring what they should never have to endure. It’s a release shaped by real emotion, grounded in the times we’re living in, and a meaningful way to begin this new chapter for Cellar Door.
