The initial 50-km section will run between Surat and Billimora. The line is expected to reach Thane by 2028 and Mumbai's Bandra-Kulra Complex by 2029. Vaishnaw said bullet trains will initially operate every 30 minutes during peak hours. Once the operational framework is stabilized, this frequency will be increased to every 20 minutes. After completion of entire infrastructure, bullet trains will run every 10 minutes. The bullet train will cover the distance between Mumbai and Ahmedabad in just two hours and seven minutes. The fare structure of the bullet trains will be affordable to middle class families as per govt.
