GSM / INTERNATIONAL phones are a little different:The volume rocker is connected to the motherboard in some weird way and I heeded @Anthony's advice and didn't force it apart. I simply left the board tipped up (with a small plastic wedge under it) and slid the replacement part out.

This repair video is featuring the Galaxy Nexus. (Not the Nexus 1, Nexus S, or the Nexus 4) This particular phone is the Sprint version.
