Caneuon Noson Lawen - in English, Songs Of The Noson Lawen. A Noson Lawen is akin to the Irish Ceilidh, found just across the Irish sea in Wales! Emrys Jones walked into the studios of Snell & Sons in Swansea sometime in the 1960s or 70s and recorded at least 10 of these previously unrecorded Noson Lawen songs, all of which were issued on these desolate looking red label discs. Though rare, there unfortunately is not much market for Welsh tenor songs so these are often affordable when they turn up. They provide a nice little document of this historical music footnote that you won't hear in many other places.
