Acoustic Shack was an alternative rock band from the 1990s. They started off as a band called Autumn Rose that released one demo in 1989 with Michael Misiuk on lead vocals. At some point after that they changed their name to Acoustic Shack. The band’s name (and the album cover for their debut) would seem to imply that they are a folk duo. However, they really had more of alternative rock band style, with a few songs even including distorted guitar.
Laura Misiuk is the sister of Michael Pritzl of The Violet Burning. Michael Misiuk has also been a member of The Violet Burning from time to time, recording on several of their albums and touring occasionally. He was also a member of the pre-The Violet Burning band The Children as well.
After releasing one album with Blonde Vinyl Records in 1991, and then one album with Broken Records in 1993, the band went solo for two albums. "Redeeming the Time" is the second of the two independent albums, released in 2001. It contained a mixture of original songs and covers of traditional hymns.
"Soon and Very Soon" is a cover of the hymn by Andrae Crouch.
After this, Acoustic Shack became Dear A19 and released one CD in 2002 called “Decade of Diversity.” This CD is a collection of previous Acoustic Shack songs, with one remix and three new songs. Michael Misiuk also released a solo CD in 2004 called "Me and My Shadows."
