Your outward appearance does not define you

Описание: I’m sharing here my personal revelation of how God corrected me and changed my heart with where I was finding my identity. I hope this video can give others the same revelation or at the least consider this! You guys are awesome and the comments and DM’s I receive are 99% positive! With these types of videos I will receive a couple of negative comments or msgs here and there whether here or on YouTube and it’s always from someone who hasn’t been following me and doesn’t know my story. I’ve heard comments such as I’m not allowed to comment on this topic because I’m “pretty” or “then why do you still wear makeup” or “girls like this are just vain” or that they can’t empathize with me or with others who have or have experienced body dysmorphia because on the outside the person looks “fine” or even beautiful and therefore they have “nothing to complain about”. Just like mental health is invisible and people can be ignorant to it because they can’t see it, poor self image, body dysmorphia, eating disorders etc. are also ALL invisible.⁣

But most importantly I wanted to say the reason that for some people it may be hard to comprehend is because when you allow God to transform your heart and surrender everything to Him He takes away the desires of this world. In the bible it says to be IN the world but not OF the world, it says to let go of earthly desires and grab onto eternal treasures. ⁣

It doesn’t mean we can’t want nice things and to have success and that includes enjoying fashion or design or looking nice, but we don’t idolize it and we don’t look for our identity in it because we will fall short everytime. Nothing compares to the love of God and everything we do is to glorify Him and to shine our light for Him. ⁣

No one can deny your personal testimony and the inner transformation that has taken place. I didn’t share in this video all the criticism I’ve received on how to “correct” my appearance in the modelling industry, the pageant world, and even just as a 17 year old girl in highschool. We have most likely all been victim to this so please don’t downplay someone else’s experience and I hope this perspective can free someone like it has freed me! 🤍
