Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) has been running grain trains from NSW to western Victoria, and due to the vast distances being travelled it is necessary for the "antiques roadshow" diesel locomotives to refuel mid journey using a siding at Gheringhap. The train consisting of BGKF, BGVF & the unique Bradken KGBY hoppers slowly approaches the loop turnout that will take them to the waiting fuel truck.
The two streamlined GM class diesel locomotives entered service with Commonwealth Railways in 1963 & 1962 respectively, with their classic EMD "bulldog" styling being just as eye catching today as it was over half a century ago. 602 is also no youngster, having entered service with the South Australian Railways in 1969. Even the pair of Alco 442 class locomotives, originally delivered to the New South Wales Government Railways (NSWGR) in 1971, are ageing well with their 50th birthdays not far away.
