Описание: This film offers a visual record of a mid-twentieth century major grassroots conservation effort that had regional environmental significance in convincing state and national governments to abandon a longstanding U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam project on the Buffalo River in northern Arkansas. It is one of 13 films created in the early 1960s by Dr. Neil Compton, Bentonville, Arkansas, the founding president of the Ozark Society, to promote keeping the Buffalo River free-flowing and undammed. In 1972 the Buffalo National River was designated as the United States' first national river.
