There’s been a lot of talk about AI 3D model generators like Meshy — tools that promise fully modelled assets from just a text prompt. But can they actually replace human sculptors?
In this video, I put Meshy AI through its paces to see if it could handle fantasy miniatures for my Tavern project. I generated five different models — tavern patrons, props, scenery, and weapons — and compared them to what a professional sculptor would actually produce.
Let’s just say… the results ranged from almost usable to existentially confusing. 😅
