Recently rescued bear Chronos moves to his forever home

The beautiful Chronos was one of five bears we rescued from a bile farm earlier this year. They had spent around two decades languishing in small, dark cages.

After he arrived at our sanctuary in Vietnam, Chronos moved to our quarantine area where all newly arrived bears spend time so our team can monitor them, get to know them, and build their trust.

After a health check and surgery to remove his diseased gall bladder - a common ailment in bears who have suffered the pain and indignity of repeated bile extraction - Chronos was finally ready to move to his forever home!

Chronos will spend some time getting used to his den, and his carers will monitor to make sure he's happy and responding well to his new surroundings.

Once he's settled, he will be introduced to some of his 'housemates', and eventually, he will step outside onto the fresh, lush grass of his enclosure.

Every step of Chronos' integration into sanctuary life takes time and is carefully planned out by our team of bear care experts. We work at each bear's pace and only introduce them to new surroundings and sensations when they're ready.
