Pokémon Legends: Z-A - To Rank A (Season 5)

Описание: Before Season 6 begins, I’ll show the matches I played to get to Rank A, but because it demanded so many points, it took me about two hours to get from Rank K ro Rank A, so, as usual, I’ll show only the ones where I ranked up. That is still 9 matches in length, but it should make the video reasonable in length.

This is the same trio as I used before: Chesnaught, Chimecho, and Porygon-Z. I did see Chesnaught in earlier seasons but not this one, I did see Porygon-Z every now and then, but I did not see Chimecho at all and feel like I’m representing it.

At the higher ranks, I found myself seeing more of the Pokémon you can only find in the Mega Dimensions DLC. I figured that the penetration rate is not THAT low (even if it is divisive, and I perfectly understand why people played Legends: Z-A but passed on the DLC)—it just needed time for people to figure out what they might want to bring besides Gholdengo and Armarouge.

I wound up in an extended duel against the player who began right next to me. I was a tempting target, after all, beginning with Chesnaught while they began with Delphox. Eventually though, they ran away with the points in this match as the rest of us fought for scraps. Also when at higher ranks like these, people also know the timing better to dodge attacks slow to come out like Meteor Beam and Hyper Beam, which I haven’t really practiced in.

I saw the green player was idle, but the game really wanted me to target them and not the person trying to farm points off of them…it also feels nice to take out Mega Darkrai twice with Porygon-Z. Darkrai was a menace from the Pokémon Battle Revolution days, and I still am not very fond of that Pokémon, certainly not after Darkrai got a Mega Evolution. The green player was able to get started near the end though.

Stage: Wild Zone 3

This Garchomp had a Focus Sash instead of the Garchompite I’m used to seeing. It led me to getting attacked off-guard by either them or someone else there. I don’t know how common it is for Garchomp to carry Fighting attacks, which makes it a very bad matchup for my Porygon-Z and for the other players to sneak up and finish me off while they safely switch their Garchomp out. Not aure what I could’ve done though.

Poor Chesnaught was stuck on the little concrete wall there and unable to get to the opposing Feraligatr. Good to know Meteor Beam is enough for even Mega Chandelure though. Also, I think this was the only Crabominable I saw all season long.

Stage: Wild Zone 3

I swapped out Dual Chop for Solar Blade on Chesnaught, but it doesn’t seem to work out that well. The very long startup time means it is usually dodged, then counterattacked. Ironically though, what seems to work for me against Heatran is Chesnaught itself, as hitting Heatran for a x4 weakness was not expected for them. I also appreciate Psychic moves in this game for passing through all solid objects.

Stage: Wild Zone 3
Music: Hoenn Pokémon
I forgot that Mega Absol Z gains the Ghost-type. I am used to the regular Mega Absol, who remains a pure Dark-type. That means Mega Absol Z is weak only to Fairy—and while I do have Dazzling Gleam on Chimecho, Mega Absol Z has two types Chimecho is weak to that it remains weak to even after Mega Evolution, making it one of the more trooublesome Pokémon for me in PvP. It appears to be troublesome for them too.

Stage: Vert Sector 6
Music: Rogue Mega Evolution
This time, it was Vert Sector 6 that wasn’t appearing for me much. That was an incredibly powerful Meteor Assault though, taking out my Chimecho even though it was not-very-effective. I’ve been told Sirfetch’d shows up here and there, but I have only seen it rarely. We have another idle player here (the purple one), and while I go after anyone who goes after them, as you can see, it does leave me vulnerable to people coming in to target me.

Stage: Vert Sector 6
Music: Lumiose City in Crisis
Having Melmetal around is troublesome for me because I only have one Pokémon able to hit super-effectively against it, and not only is Chesnaught a physical attacker and thus has to get through Melmetal’s bodacious Defense, but it leaves the both of us open for a double-KO from the person with Heatran.

Music: Darkrai
Those Heat Wave and Magma Storm attacks are really something else! They have incredibly long range and pinpoint accuracy. I should keep that in mind, as I am certain we’re going to see a lot of Metagross and Gholdengo in the future regardless of which Legendary Pokémon are allowed in.
