ALVORD Desert HART MTN Overland

Описание: Packed up the Tacoma with a simple Overland Camping setup and headed down to SE Oregon to explore this wild region.

Day 1:
Took off around 4:00pm and headed south on I-5 down to Eugene, then eastbound on 58 until the sun came down. Incredible highway to enjoy the sunset on.

Camped off a random NF road in the Deschutes National Forest. Elevation was high and temps dropped below freezing, but we did ok in the back of the truck.

Day 2
Early start on the day with a general south eastbound heading towards Plush, OR and into the Hart National Antelope Refuge. This route took us through some of the most rural communities in the state. At one point we pulled over on the side of the freeway, cooked lunch, filmed, photographed, changed and kept driving for another 30 minutes without anyone passing. You better be able to take care of business yourself...this is the Wild West.

I'll never forget the approach into the refuge, rough terrain, but incredible views. Saw multiple herds of Antelope, jumped into the Hot Springs then back on the dirt and gravel roads SE towards ALVORD.

The drive approaching the Playa is another good one. You have to see it to understand.

The rest of the evening was spent cooking tacos and soaking in the Hot Springs, beers and Sunset.

Day 3
Drove home
