With intense artillery shelling killing civilians and injuring Army personnel, the Valley saw widespread displacement and school closures. Top officials, including PM Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, met the armed forces leadership. India slammed Pakistan for hiding behind civilian airliners and targeting religious sites, calling it a new low in cross-border hostilities.
