Описание: आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग वर्ग को मिले आरक्षण पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुहर लगा दी है। चीफ जस्टिस यूयू ललित की अगुवाई वाली जजों की पीठ ने 3-2 से संविधान के 103वें संशोधन के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाया। हालांकि, चीफ जस्टिस यूयू ललित और जस्टिस रवींद्र भट्ट की राय EWS कोटा के खिलाफ थी, बाकी तीन जजों ने कहा EWS कोटा संविधान की मूल भावना के खिलाफ नहीं है। EWS कोटे में सामान्य वर्ग को आर्थिक आधार 10 फीसदी आरक्षण मिला हुआ है.

The Supreme Court has approved the reservation given to the economically weaker sections. A bench of judges headed by Chief Justice UU Lalit ruled in favor of the 103rd amendment to the Constitution by 3-2. Though Chief Justice UU Lalit and Justice Ravindra Bhatt were of the opinion against EWS quota, the remaining three judges said EWS quota is not against the basic spirit of the Constitution. In the EWS quota, the general category has got 10 percent reservation on economic basis.
