Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"Verily, every people have their Eid, and this is our Eid."

Before performing the Eid prayer, Muslims give Zakat al-Fitr (charity) to purify their fast and help the poor.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"The fast remains suspended between heaven and earth until Zakat al-Fitr is paid."
