This was recorded on January 13th, 2026. It had snowed most of the day while being just at or slightly above freezing. When I started to record this, it had actually started to rain just a bit, which made for some heavy and somewhat sloppy snow.
The Stewart J. Cort had some issues getting into the lock, due to ice but by the time we got there they were almost ready to exit the lock downbound. While our timing with the Cort wasn't great, it was great for the Wilfred Sykes. We were able to see the deckhands go over on the bosun's chair as they pushed through the ice.
