Ambient Drone: Gainx2, LFOCH, Mononoke, inside AUM on iPad (See Pinned Comment)

Описание: When I heard about Rob Jackson Gainx2 (link below), I immediately thought it might be useful for smoothing the ‘stepping’ effect you get when using midi LFOs to modulate volume faders. Today I tried it out and was not disappointed, it’s very useful. In this AUM session, the volume of 8 instances of Mononoke are being modulated by the experimental LFO app ‘LFOCH’. Every channel with a Mononoke instance has an instance of GainX2 in its chain. I am modulating the volume sliders in the instances of GainX2, and dialing in some ‘damping’ on those. These damping sliders in GainX2 allow me to avoid the stepping effect I’d be getting if I was modulating the AUM faders directly. The damping smoothes out all the stepping. Actually, it can be extra fun to morph between the fully damped and undamped effect, using it as a kind of effect. When you go into very damped territory, you start to lose some of the dynamics. At the start of this video the damping sliders are cranked hard, then I bring them down. This is all explained and demoed in much more detail in this video on my Patreon:
