From mental-health reels to the #ProudR**di storm—“Awkward Goat” (Divija Bhasin) is at the center of one of 2025’s loudest internet debates. In early-November, she posted a reel attempting to “reclaim” a sexist Hindi slur: first mocking the stereotype, then arguing that the word is routinely used to control women and should lose its sting if women refuse to be shamed by it. The clip went viral, with millions of views and a fierce split between praise and outrage.
Backlash escalated fast. Several creators and viewers accused the move of being tone-deaf toward sex workers and of normalising abusive language for teens. At least one social-media activist claimed to have filed a POCSO complaint, though formal charges had not been confirmed at the time of reporting (Nov 12, 2025). Bhasin publicly doubled down, saying she was ready to face consequences and that the real issue is everyday misogynistic abuse.
Main flashpoints we cover in this video:
• The timeline of the reel and the “reclamation” argument—what she said and why.
• Critiques from feminists, sex-worker rights voices, and parents about impact on minors.
• Legal status: complaint vs. FIR—what’s actually documented so far.
• The bigger context: who can reclaim a slur, and where lines are drawn online.
Our goal isn’t pile-on culture—it’s clarity. We’ll separate facts from captions, show receipts, and ask tougher questions: Is “reclaiming” empowering here, or does it risk amplifying a slur? What responsibility do creators carry when huge teen audiences are watching? And what’s the ethical path for advocacy content that aims to fight misogyny without collateral harm?
