This Roguelike playthrough of Pokemon Crystal punishes me for losing.
When one season ends in failure, the next is scarred. Each milestone loss sets into effect one of multiple possible scars that will influence the next save file.
⚔️ Roguelike Rules:
-Permadeath (unless dice say otherwise)
-No items in battle
-One catch per route
-No Box or save scumming
-Badge win = Visit Nurse Joy 🏥
-No backtracking to catch or grind
-Full team = no catch unless one Pokemon released
