The Great Destroyer [Fragile Remix]

Here's a song I put together for a TAFE project... I like it, I wanted something different and that's basically what I achieved... the fact that Trent Reznor provides the multitracks for some of his songs for free is just awesome and, in my opinion, more artists need to do these kinds of things for their fans.

Anyway, the song was made in Acoustica Mixcraft, a loop program... what I like about it, and the reason I prefer it over other Windows loop-based applications, is because it's easy, has a layout similar to GarageBand, and comes installed with thousands of sound files which are updated regularly... top-quality application, done a lot of stuff in it.

I figured I'd do something different as well instead of pasting some random image on the video for 4 minutes, so I tried out this After Effects tutorial that visualises treble and bass waveforms... it didn't work out perfectly, but it was just something fun to pass the time... the tutorial can be found here, at Video Copilot:

Also, this song was basically a tribute to NIN, my favourite artist! I know the beginning and end of the song don't particularly sound like NIN as the starting part was something I threw together before deciding on what I was going to do. In the end they all fit together so I decided to keep it how it is.

fans of NIN will most likely recognise the changes I made to the song... hopefully. Haha.
